It's in the cards...

or let's say, it could be in the cards. It had been suggested that I offer a line of cards featuring my original mixed media art. After some thought and research, I decided to do just that. My ArtCards will be available in The Gallery at the Lynchburg Community Market, hopefully by this Saturday. I have seven different cards (blank inside) and each is numbered and signed. I am limiting the printing to 200 of each one. Here are two that will be included in the first series... Soar Believe Ever couple of months I will release a few new cards, hope I can keep up! A few more pieces to share over the next few days. Hope you are having a fantastic week. Note: not sure why Blogger is acting up this morning, cannot get post to format properly, my apologies...

The trees and weather were gorgeous last week, took these photos walking around the yard.We woke this morning to snow, sleet, freezing rain and it's supposed to be cool all week.

Collage Backgrounds...

I keep several extra pieces of watercolor paper on my work table for extra paint and experimenting. At the end of the day, all my leftover paint gets applied to one or several pieces. I also experiment with different brushes and various items.
Here are several pieces from the last couple of weeks...

Once I feel that a piece has had enough, I scan and save it. The original will be used as a journal page later on.
Last week as my printer was running low on ink, I printed out several pages. With each page the color got weaker. I made copies until the ink was gone and then cut the copies into pieces.
This is what I created with several pieces...

Little Angel...

Our neice, Emma, turned 3 last month and I had decided that I was going to make her a gift this year. She gets plenty of toys and clothes and I wanted to do something different, maybe something cute for her room.
Here is what I ended up making...

Emma Angel
I framed it in a bronze colored frame, her room is pink and brown.
I took the photo at Christmas.
Have a great weekend.

Outside of my comfort zone...

Although I love taking photos, I have no desire to ever be, what I call, a studio photographer. There's just too much pressure. A few weeks ago however I did take a few photos for a family friend. Still a bit of pressure, what if none turn out, what if she isn't happy with them and so on. Several did turn out and she was pleased but I think I'll stick to the grandchildren and nature.
Here is my favorite...

Maggie
Happy Friday, have a great weekend.
