In my garden...

A few of my flowers...
Hydrangea

Snapdragons
More Hydrangea, same bush, different color bloom

All of my gardening is done in containers.
I also have Roses, Petunias, Purple Cone Flowers, Sweet Potato Vine, Nasturtiums, Bee Balm, Coreopsis, Sunflowers, Mums, Gerber Daisies, Shasta Daisies, Black Eyed Susan and Clematis.

Another girl...

It's been a while since I've shared a girl, this is my newest...
She loved the everyday
9 x 12 canvas panel
I used a security envelope and another piece of junk mail to create her dress.
I've signed up to take another workshop by Christy Tomlinson, Your Living Canvas. The workshop started last week however I haven't. It's a busy time for us right now, lots of birthdays, weddings and graduations, oh, and a couple of baby showers. Right now I'm trying to get cards made for graduations this weekend and a baby gift for Sunday. Then a wedding album, more cards and another baby gift need to be finished next week. Oh my goodness...
Hope you have a fabulous week!
Enjoy.

Remember...

Found this on Pinterest awhile back and it is by far one of the greatest quotes ever.
Have a safe and happy Memorial Day and remember those that have served and sacrificed, giving us a reason to celebrate and honor, on this great holiday.
Have a great day!

Truly blessed...

Monday was my birthday...
Picked up this little bird at the Flea Market in Raleigh.
Love the colors. A little gift to myself.
One of the blooms on the beautiful rose tree I received from my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.
Celebrated with family when we got back from our trip. A great dinner, beautiful cards and gifts and wonderful company. What a fabulous day it was...I am truly blessed, each and every day.
Hope all your days are blessed.

So sweet...

Standing charge...chased me a few times.
There are 3 little ones...
so soft looking...
so sweet. The circle of life...
These were taken at a very small lake behind our local Walmart.
Geese have been hanging around the lake for years.
Just something about babies and new life, make me smile.
A busy day ahead and then more running tomorrow in preparation for our little trip on Sunday. We are taking our grandson, Gabriel, to Raleigh to see WWE Over the Limit Sunday evening. Spending the night and coming back Monday afternoon. He's a big wrestling fan and we gave him the tickets for his birthday which was back in February. He has patiently waited over 3 months for this, pretty good for a 5 year old. I've never been to anything like this and am not a fan of wrestling, should be interesting, cannot wait to see his reation, this will be much bigger than what he watches on television. I'm also super excited because we are going to the Raleigh Flea Market before the big event. We are going to have a great time.
Hope your weekend is fantastic!
Enjoy!

A journal and a story...

I recently took the online journal workshop, Remains of the Day, which was a total blast. I loved everything about it. The best part is using up piles of stash I've collected. Details of the workshop are on the right sidebar.
I'm using my journal for our beach trip in July...

I enjoyed the random sewing throughout the process

A transparency stitched to create a pocket for a photo

ZigZag stitches

A doily and page from a magazine

A few tickets

A diecut and random stitching

Illustration is from a travel book on Spain that I found at a thrift store, I think it's a hoot, more stitching and a scrap of fabric

Pages all stacked up

Finished signatures

I loved making the cover...that's when I decided it was going to the beach with me.
My Beach Journal, all ready to go and so am I.

Now, for the story...A few months ago, I broke my sewing machine. It was totally my fault and I tried to fix it myself but no luck. I finally took it in to be repaired and as it turned out, not a big fix, the gentleman took about 10 minutes and charged my $5. So excited that I didn't have to leave it because I was itching to get started on this workshop. While he was working, we chatted about sewing and at some point he asked me what I sewed. I told him I used to sew clothes and costumes however for the past couple of years I've only used it to sew paper and for mending. His reaction was priceless, you sew what? I repeated myself and then began to try and explain...after a moment or so I gave up and I think he was relieved...it's one of those things, if I have to explain, you wouldn't understand. Too funny!
Enjoy your day!

That time of year...

Baseball season...and with 3 grandsons playing, we spend a lot of time at the ballpark...

Gabriel

Graylee, loves watching big brother play.

Brandon Lewis, blowing a bubble with his eyes closed, I guess he's ready.

Madelyn spent last weekend with us while mommy and daddy were out of town. We had a great time, she's so precious, but this granny was seriously exhausted by Sunday night.
A bit of new art to share but I need to get photos taken and uploaded. Art tends to take a backseat to everything else when the weather is warm and beautiful.
Have a fantastic day!
