Another productive, creative weekend.
Several pieces finished, a few more started.
Here are 2 of my favorites...

Live is good
4 x 12 canvas

Birds in the Garden
16 x 8

Hoping the creative juices continue to flow on a regular basis. I'm participating in the Lynchburg Art Festival in September and exhibiting at the Lynchburg Art Club in October. I've committed to having around 40 pieces for the exhibit. What was I thinking? Actually, I'm honored and what great motivation. Ordered another 24 canvases last week and got them all primed with Gesso this morning. Lots of art to share over the next several weeks...
Have a wonderful week.
Enjoy!

Angels...

Back in March 2010, I shared this paper pieced angel that I had made for my neice Emma. It was a gift for her second birthday. This was just as I was beginning to explore the world of collage and mixed media...
Her little sister, Aubrey, is turning 2 next month.
Here is the angel I just finished for her...
Isn't she preciou!
I decided to try one on a canvas and here she is...
She made today count
8 x 8
Having a wonderfully creative weekend, hope yours has been great.
Enjoy!

Home Sweet Home...

I love to travel, love to explore, love discovering new places but there's nothing like that feeling when you arrive back home.
Here are 2 pieces I just finished, Home Sweet Home...

Both pieces are 5 x 5 on canvas.
I like this size, a bit of a challenge for me.
Finished the 8 canvases I'd been working on since Sunday and have 6 more primed and ready to start but first I need to get our Home Sweet Home back in order. Worked for a while in my studio last night just trying to restore some sense of order, not an easy task.
Hope your week has gone well, have a beautiful day.

Out and about...

I spent the last two weeks finishing projects...1 wedding album, 2 baby gifts and a birthday gift and then I spent the weekend out and about working on a new project involving my Photo Art. Very excited about this project but it will be a few weeks before I can share.
Here are a few photos I took on Sunday at the Old City Cemetery...

Here are a couple I took on Saturday, the first day of the James River Batteau Festival. They departed Lynchburg at 11am for a week long trip to Richmond.

Climbing down to the river that morning, I fell. Banged up my elbow and bruised my backside and pride. Thank goodness for my wonderful hubby, he kept my fall from being alot worse than it was. Still a bit sore.
Since Sunday afternoon, I've been knee deep in creative chaos. Working on canvases, 4 finished and 4 more that just need a few finishing touches. Look forward to sharing them soon.
Hope you are having a great week.
Enjoy!

Dance in the rain...

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,
it's about learning to dance in the rain.
5 x 7 canvas panel
What a great quote. Needed this a few days ago...now it can hang on my wall as a reminder on those rainy days.
Enjoy your weekend!

On this dreary morning...

I patiently await for the sun to shine again. Another day of rain, rain, rain. I'm certain we needed a bit but now everything is drowning.
A few photos to share...

Love this tub filled with bright colors, one of my favorite containers this year.

These blooms have the most wonderful scent.

Took a walk downtown Lynchburg on Sunday and
walked right by this...glad they were busy.

One of my Bee Balm plants, love the raspberry color.
Hope your day is filled with sunshine.
Enjoy!

A little bit of art...

Enjoy
3 x 5 canvas panel
A few weeks ago, while in Raleigh, I visited a Jerry's Artarama store...I was in heaven. Paints, papers, pens and canvases galore. I could have stayed all day, it was the most wonderful art store and I cannot wait to make a trip back. My main purchase was an assortment of canvases, 3 x 5, 8 x 8, 6 x 12 and 8 x 16...35 total, guess I need to get busy!
Have a fantastic day!

Milestone...

Amy, Madelyn, Megan & Sarah, my beautiful daughters and youngest granddaughter.
Sarah is my baby and she graduated from high school last Friday. I shed many tears of pride and joy. I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday.
Amy is expecting our 7th grandchild, a boy, the end of July. We look forward to his arrival.
I am truly blessed.

Beautiful blooms on my rose tree,

and a few more. These smell so wonderful.
Dew on a Gerber Daisy.
Clematis, love this color.
The butterflies are loving my garden, as am I.
Hope you enjoy it too.
Off to Fredericksburg in a few hours for my daughter, Amy's, baby shower. Get to spend the day with all my girls.
Hope you have a wonderful day.
