Wilted Sunflower
Photo taken June 2012
I took this photo just before we left for vacation. Even in it's wilted stage, I still think it is beautiful.
It's been a long 3 months and I've kept strong and optimistic however I''m alo a realist. That's why I've always had Plan B on the back burner. I hoped and prayed that I would continue to get better however I knew there was the possibility that I would have some long terms affects from the stroke.
Both doctors I've seen agree that my vision issues are permanent at this stage. My new glasses came in on Wednesday and although eyesight is a bit sharper, impairment still the same. I will continue to seek answers however it's time to try and get my life back to as normal as possible. I've been collecting items to aid my vision for several weeks and doing as much as I can around the house and yard. I've also gotten back into my studio some. I cannot do anything detailed but I can paint and have worked on a few backgrounds. Sharp objects are kept at length and my wonderful husband cuts out anything I need. I also realize that I may never get to drive again but again my husband has said over and over, he will take me anywhere I want to go. I'm extremely lucky. Creating has been a bit frustrating and slow going but I just keep at it. I need it to keep me sane.
I know how very lucky I am and I thank God, every day. I'm still optimistic and we are seeking second opinions but as a realist, I'm prepared to do whatever I can to live a normal life and create the art I love., that's my Plan B.
I've shared all the art I had finished before my illness and I look forward to sharing new art with you soon. As I mentioned, it's a much slower process for me now but I do as much as I can each day. My eyes also get very tired after a few hours of painting, so thankful I can still paint. So very thankful.

On this dreary morning...
I patiently await for the sun to shine again. Another day of rain, rain, rain. I'm certain we needed a bit but now everything is drowning.
A few photos to share...

Love this tub filled with bright colors, one of my favorite containers this year.

These blooms have the most wonderful scent.

Took a walk downtown Lynchburg on Sunday and
walked right by this...glad they were busy.

One of my Bee Balm plants, love the raspberry color.
Hope your day is filled with sunshine.
Enjoy!

So sweet...
Standing charge...chased me a few times.
There are 3 little ones...
so soft looking...
so sweet. The circle of life...
These were taken at a very small lake behind our local Walmart.
Geese have been hanging around the lake for years.
Just something about babies and new life, make me smile.
A busy day ahead and then more running tomorrow in preparation for our little trip on Sunday. We are taking our grandson, Gabriel, to Raleigh to see WWE Over the Limit Sunday evening. Spending the night and coming back Monday afternoon. He's a big wrestling fan and we gave him the tickets for his birthday which was back in February. He has patiently waited over 3 months for this, pretty good for a 5 year old. I've never been to anything like this and am not a fan of wrestling, should be interesting, cannot wait to see his reation, this will be much bigger than what he watches on television. I'm also super excited because we are going to the Raleigh Flea Market before the big event. We are going to have a great time.
Hope your weekend is fantastic!
Enjoy!

Spring Break, Spring cleaning and Spring fever...
A few of my favorite Spring photos...

A beautiful Easter spent with family followed by a day of planting and cleaning. At least a dozen projects spread out all over my studio and my to do list is growing. First item of business is to get together 10 pieces of art for submission to the Lynchburg Art Club for consideration of an exhibition later this year. I've put it off in the past however have decided to take the plunge and need to get everything ready and delivered by the end of the week. It's time to get busy!
Enjoy your week.
