Little Angel...

Our neice, Emma, turned 3 last month and I had decided that I was going to make her a gift this year. She gets plenty of toys and clothes and I wanted to do something different, maybe something cute for her room.
Here is what I ended up making...

Emma Angel
I framed it in a bronze colored frame, her room is pink and brown.
I took the photo at Christmas.
Have a great weekend.

Outside of my comfort zone...

Although I love taking photos, I have no desire to ever be, what I call, a studio photographer. There's just too much pressure. A few weeks ago however I did take a few photos for a family friend. Still a bit of pressure, what if none turn out, what if she isn't happy with them and so on. Several did turn out and she was pleased but I think I'll stick to the grandchildren and nature.
Here is my favorite...

Happy Friday, have a great weekend.

Collage Art...

Just after the first of the year I felt the need to try something new. I still wanted to play with paper but also wanted to try some painting and other techniques. During my research, I kept coming back to collage art. While in a craft store one day, I found the book, Collage Lab by Bee Shay and with the first flip through the pages I knew I had found what I was looking for.

I am hooked and have spent hours working through the book. Although I still have a lot to learn, and many more labs to complete, here is my first attempt at a collage...
Believe Collage, size 4 x 6
I have framed this collage in a red wood frame and decided to keep it for myself since it was my first one.
More pieces in the works and will share them soon.
Have a fantastic weekend!
Be back soon.

Williamsburg...

We spent New Year's Day in Colonial Williamsburg. A beautiful, sunny day, although a bit on the chilly side. Here a few photos I took...

I photographed over 40 doors and these are a few of my favorites. I love the use of fruits, vines, shells and other natural items in the wreaths and other decorations.
Lots of things going on right now...I just relocated my booth at The Gallery and trying to keep it stocked with new and unique creations. I am working through a workshop on collage art plus I have 4 albums for customers to finish by the end of February.
I wish I had more time to spend here on my blog but my access to the internet is so limited.
Have a fantastic weekend!
Be back soon.

White Christmas...

I wish every year for a White Christmas and although we didn't get a lot of snow, we did get a few inches 2 days before and a little more on Christmas day. Here a few photos I took...

Love it when wishes come true! It was beautiful and actually still is since not much has melted where we live.
Have a fantastic day.
