A major step...

My distance vision has been improving and yesterday I drove for the first time in 6 months. Not far, and not on any major roads. 5 miles, round trip. I did well although it will be a while before I can go on my own. It's was very nerve racking but I did it and it's such a major step for me. It brings tears to my eyes knowing that I am close to regaining some independence again. Going out again today, a little further but still no major roads. My close up vision still has a ways to go, have a hard time seeing the speedometer clearly, so I rely on my wonderful co-pilot. I am beyond excited. So truly blessed.

The Moon...

Last night's moon, so beautiful.
Working on a project for a customer right now so the art has been pushed aside for a couple of weeks. It's something I need to focus on and get finished. Will be back soon with lots of art to share.

Traditional scrapbooking is quite difficult these days due to my vision impairment. I have problems with depth perception and detailed work. It's hard for me to focus well, close up and I cannot use either of my paper trimmers. It's also very difficult to read a ruler. I decided to try a few mixed media pages and am pleased with how they turned out. I'm so lucky my husband is so willing to cut out things for me. Working in a 9 x 12 sketchbook and have several more pages started. A whole new world of preserving memories. Enjoy!

Blooming...

Both pieces are 9 x 12 canvas panels. The round flowers are my favorite.  I'm currently working on a third panel. A lot of different projects in the works right now. Seems I work better when there's a lot going on.

Our weather has been dreary...so wishing for Spring. Days and days of art, so all is good in life. Seems beaches and flowers fill my canvases these days. When the sun does not shine, I create my own. Art brings happy light to every day. I am blessed, I know it and I am thankful.

What really matters...

This is so true. I
've learned this life lesson. Although, there are many things I can no longer do, there are so many more that I can. I take advantage of that every day, especially when it comes to my art. There were many, many days, even weeks when I couldn't create. Now that I can, even with some limitations, I spend as much time as I can working...well, playing. I have many new pieces drying but way behind on getting photographed and posted.
Spending some time with our grandson, Tyler and then more art this evening. Hope all is well.

working on an 11 x 14 canvas and several 6 x 6 pieces.

I was  inspired by the art of Marnita Patton that is featured in

the January/February issue of Somerset Studios.

A shipment of cart supplies I ordered arrived yesterday and  I'm well stocked for a while. I ordered a set of Golden Fluid Acrylics and I'm excited to try them out. Nothing like something new to play with.
