More backgrounds...

Lots of paint and stamping with various objects.
I adhered a piece of die cut paper to watercolor paper, added paints and oil pastels.
Love the dimension.
Hope you are having a great week.

The background crayon art was done by my granddaughter, Hannah.
for the Ethnic challenge
Postage stamps & bauble came from Kim at PDA.
Town Hall
for the Vintage Sepia challenge
The altered domino were a gift from Kim. The background was created with vintage book papers and a photograph I took a few years ago. I altered the photo to make it look sepia with brown paint and ink.
These tags were all created for challenges at Paper & Digital Art.
My thanks to Jean for keeping me motivated and creating.

Red butterflies...

Sharing a new tag.
The background was created with a color copy of a mixed media piece I did last year. I added a bit of doodling. The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart, one of my favorites.

Oh darling...

Artist Trading Card
One of the Pocket Packet Friday themes, this month at Paper & Digital Arts, is Decollete. Yes, I admit, I had to look it up. This ATC represents my interpretation of the theme.

Book report...

After deciding to participate in the Artistic Alpha challenge at Paper & Digital Arts, I found this book at Ollie's. Ollie's is a close out store and has a huge book section. I've purchased several popular art books for $1.99 each, regular price $24.95. Makes me smile everytime I go into Michael's or A C Moore and see them at full price.
Author, Lynne Perrella, is a fabulous artist and she's often featured in Somerset Studio magazine. Stampington & Co. also carries a line of her artist papers. The book features the art of 14 artists and is a collaborations of journals based on the letters of the alphabet. Every page is filled with inspiration and it's a go to book when I'm having a hard time getting started on a project.
Definately a great buy at $1.99 however well worth the cover price, in my opinion.

Wiping the tears...

Spring Break, Spring cleaning and Spring fever...

A few of my favorite Spring photos...

A beautiful Easter spent with family followed by a day of planting and cleaning. At least a dozen projects spread out all over my studio and my to do list is growing. First item of business is to get together 10 pieces of art for submission to the Lynchburg Art Club for consideration of an exhibition later this year. I've put it off in the past however have decided to take the plunge and need to get everything ready and delivered by the end of the week. It's time to get busy!
Enjoy your week.

My latest treasures...
On my most recent junkin' adventure with my friend Bonnie, I found some great items. A vintage sewing pattern, a booklet on Spain, 3 packs of vintage paper coasters, a salt shaker, a piece of vintage restaurant pottery, 2 metal floral frogs and an awesome wire basket. I also purchased a pair of shutters to use for display at shows.
My favorite find of the day was this lamp shade...
Stained, torn and only $2.50...I knew I had to have it, have had this idea for a couple of months...
I removed the fabric from the shade and spray painted it black. Also, painted an old lamp base I've been hanging on to for several years. I removed the cord however left the rest of the lamp intact.
The finished project...
It's now a display for my tags and other little pieces of art.
This was fun!
