It's been almost a month since we made this trip, sharing a few of my favorite photos...

An extra passenger on the ferry going to the island.

The rehearsal dinner was at Howard's Pub and it was fabulous. Best hush puppies ever!

This historic island home is for sale...it has to be raised, needs all new electric and plumbing plus lots and lots of tender loving care. Asking price $264,900 plus the large sum to make it livable but what a neat little house.

There are a lot of little cemeteries all over the village.
This little house is just behind the house we stayed in, absolutely quaint!

Local fishermen.

Local resident.

Ocracoke Island Lighthouse, the second oldest operating lighthouse in the United States. The house is the original lightkeeper's residence, now divided into 2 seperate private homes.
We loved the island and are making plans to return.
Hope you are having a beautiful weekend.
Be back soon.

Love the pics Shannon! We went to Ocracoke last year and I wish we could go every year....a very long drive from Texas!! Hope you're having a great weekend.
Robin...we just fell in love with everything about the island. Yes, Texas is a bit of a drive. I'm in Virginia and it takes us 8 hours including the ferry trip. Have a great week!
